BORED? Get Some New EAW Buddies

Of course, these buddies will show up drunk for your flight, tell you to p... off, tease you, and scare you.

They're a crazy bunch whose voices will be very familiar to you. You will be surprised to find them flying EAW on the UK side. Aussies, NZ'ers, French, maybe some Belgians, Scots, Dutch, Austrian, Americans, and who knows? Irish and even a character from that Jewel in the Crown, India. So the accents say. I'm sure you've heard some on radio or even TV and movies. Some actually flew into Berlin in WWII.
If you have tender children's ears, better pass.

Naturally most come from the British Empire and Commonwealth, because these are the new "Wudpecker UK voices" that go with my unfinished "Et Tu, Magoo?" mod. I've decided to release them early to drive you nuts and cheer up those long days or nights in this new year.
Mr. Magoo, you'll be happy to know, will have to wait (he speaks up once).

They will fly with you anywhere, in any campaign where the Brits appear and their voices are heard. Just invite them into the game. Heh, heh.

Do peruse the "Readme" below and go directly to the sound list for a taste of what you're in for. You can use any or all of them. Remember, it's just for fun.

TO INSTALL
Unzip files
Download any set or sound into your EAW game folder. Suggest a minimum of sets #1 and #2.

If using OAW or EAW/OAW, create a new folder under OAW. Name it "N-Wudy's UK sounds" or a name of your choice starting with "N" and a space or dash. Drop the sound files into this folder. The "N" locates the folder in the sounds menu.

UK-1 Basic sound files ground control
UK-2 Bomber+fighter-bomber crews
UK-3 Fighters +general use
UK-4 Fighters-genl, 2nd set
UK-5 Fighters-genl, 3rd set

_______
see below for a list of these UK sounds. Some cussing not suitable for children.
-to remove, simply delete any sound.
-to hear the sounds outside the game--Use Ncrawler's EAW sound utility .zip file included as an extra.
-unzip it in a directory convenient for you. It does not have to be in the sounds directory. WIN 98 users: do NOT check the "AutoPlay" box or you will have to re-load the utility. No harm done.
_______

EXTRA SOUNDS (See the Extra Sounds+Tutor text file) from RAF_Dumoulin's "favorite sound files", an adaptation of Meatwaters' and CFS, as best I can determine. Most are slightly modified by me. Some are my own.

Note that SND0038.snd , SND0039.snd are modified for the German Me-163 rocket interceptor.
They will function as jet engine sounds-- though a bit loud.

Change their i.d. names to just number and extension to drop into the game, such as

		Snd0034 rotary start.snd
	becomes
		Snd0034.snd

THE EXTRA FILES:
SND0030 inline start
SND0031 inline run
SND0034 rotary start.
SND0035 rotary run.
SND0038 jet-rocket start.
SND0039 rocket run.
SND0042.engine run bomber-1
SND0043 engine run-bomber-2.
SND0044 engine run-hi .
SND0047 engine damaged-dies
SND0050 gear up-down.
SND0052 flaps-control surfaces.

Two files with interesting effects:
SND0030 engine start-skyfanare.
SND0034. engine start-skyfanfare

Two files as examples of joining stock EAW with music:
SND0050 Sky fanfare+2001 theme in 8 bit stereo (There is a long delay to allow ground control to speak)
UK3_123 "Attacking now" Cheech and Chong Rock n' Roll

	THIS UK SOUND MOD
is part of a larger "Et Tu, Magoo?" scenario to come. Specialized "Magoo" sounds are NOT included here.

A Set of American (U.S.) and Allied voices will go with the UK sounds later.

The UK (United Kingdom) sounds represent the British Commonwealth, allies and friends. They include Australian, New Zealand, Scots, French, Dutch, even Eastern Indian, American, and other allied voice accents who flew British aircraft or under British direction.
Some are authentic radio voices from aircraft on their way to Berlin (supplied by Alan C. through Col. Gibbon, I believe)

No doubt you will recognize some voices. All are taken from sound sources freely available on the internet and heavily modified. There are too many sources to give credit individually, but the MOVIEWAVS Page was a chief source.

SEAWC CREDITS
--- Ncrawler for his WinXP EAW Sound Utility --which mostly works on Win98.
---Sandbagger (Mike Norris) for hosting the vast EAW library.
---Col. Gibbon for the authentic bomber crew voices
---Capt. Kurt, Max 188, Von Beerhofen, and RAF_Dumoulin for passing on the EAW sound lists.
---Guys like Pobs, Moggy, Herr Shreck, Crashin' Jack, Aussie Jim, Geg and Pisis for general support (and thanks for the "Golden Ear Award", Pisis).
